*•.¸ ✿New Player Assistance Pt. 1✿ ¸.•* September 22, 2009

Hello again! Busy as I have been carrying on a couple of concurrent hunts, I was going through my inventory yesterday and spent quite a bit of time unpacking items from one of my favorite freebie stores in SL, it is called .:PeppermintBlue:. and they offer new items once a week.  Now, what is so special about Peppermint Blue is that they offer what they call “New Player Assistance Pack”s, and in going through the many packages I had stacked up in my inventory, I found they are really worthwhile looking  into.  These packs are pretty complete, and they usually put one out  a month for each male and female, packed with loads of needful things for new players.  Included in the monthly packs are a full set of skin & makeups for girls, eyes, hair, 3 versions of a shape, hair, clothes, accessories, a facial light…(whewh! winded) and most of these include outfits that any player would easily add to their wardrobe.  One thing I noticed is that the outfits are sponsored by several different designers in SL, and a landmark to their store is included.  This gave me the idea for today’s post, I wanted to write about these stores and include some pictures of the items that can be found there;  I will also include landmarks to the three Peppermint Blue stores, they each usually have something different from the other two stores so it is worth visiting all three! It is important to mention that the FreeStore from Peppermint Blue is where most of the previous packs can be found, and where they place the special limited edition group packs.  To get there, you use the store landmark and when you land, to your left, there will be a little market stall with 3 teleport stations, take one of these to the store entrance and voilá! you’re there. Having once been a ‘newbie’ myself, I know how hard it can be to find something decent, much less ‘cool’ to wear; it is my opinion that a lot of the common freebie places have stuff that is so outdated, and so ‘out-there’ that I want to help new players find much better quality items which are freely available in-world, so I will also make a page with links to all the stores I find which offer new player assistance packages, and believe me, I have seen many in my hunting travels!  Another great source for free stuff is signing up with the Designers Shopping Network (DSN) it does not take up a group and you get tons of free samples daily!  There are also the many Lucky Chair and Midnight Mania board groups which are invaluable for finding the coolest free items around! Name: Newbie Assistance Pack for Ladies MO#01 090911

Includes the skin in 36 different options!!! Black facial hair, Brown and red, and three different makeups each plus freckled versions.  It also includes the shape you see here un-modified; The shorts, socks, boots, jacket, goggles and a cool knit miniskirt with a belt not pictured here, but you can check it out on the store designer’s blog http://alice07.wordpress.com/.  The shape is modifiable and it comes in three versions for different heights; though  you must agree, the avi straight from the box looks pretty cute, a sort of Japanese anime look to it.

PEPPERMINT BLUE Pt. 2

      

 

This is another NAP from Peppermint Blue, and come on now, tell me this is not a yummy giftie?

This one is called .::PeppermintBlue::.090609 NewbieAssistancePack for Ladies (numbers represent the release date) and it includes the outfit called “Sexy Panther” which comes in three colors, pink, blue & the one you see pictured here which includes a top, skirt, glitch shorts (which btw look HOTTTT in and of themselves!), and the boots. Also in the pack you will find the skin pictured here, as always in three hair color choices and 6 makeups each, 3 sets of eyes (black, brow & blue), a height meter, facelight, a portable pose HUD (this one I just found what it does!!) as it states, portable poses werever you are without having to drop balls! And last but not least, it also includes a gorgeously sexy golden lingerie st, which I was too tired to picture but once again check out Alice07′s blog for pics.  The shape pictured is the same one I got in the previous pack, I just modified it a bit here and there..lol (wink-wink-nudge-nudge). Well,

Someone was absent for a while…. (looks around… grins…) oh, yeah, it was me! I doubt anyone missed me, nevertheless, have I got some awesome stuffs to share with you today!  In my absence I was taking some time off to clean out and organize (somewhat.. ok… to a very minimal extent..) my inventory in SL, but still had time to hop and skip my way around enough to find this spot I just have to share with you!

My spotlight on cool places to visit for this week is called Groll Inn & Hideout Island and it is an amazingly great place, not to mention awesome photo ops for pirate lovers!  The Island is a ghost town of sorts, and the attention to detail is truly wonderful, I was so amazed by the water alone! There is an almost hidden cemetery, an observation tower with a telescope, and plenty of things to see and interact with; I walked around it, flew around it and even had time to lie around….  It is very well thought out, layed out, check out the pics and you’ll see what I mean!  My thanks to the owner Groll Greggan for bringing such a wonderful imagination to SL and sharing it with all of us    !    Go check it out and tell me what you think!

 

See what I mean about the water??? I sooo felt like Capt. Jack Sparrow riding on the sinking dingy, lmao! There is even a little sparrow flitting about close to my shoulder!

A perfect place for a lil' drink.. up on top of the roof at the Inn, the telescope/observatory is just behind him!

 

On the western side of the island behind the Inn is a quaint little cemetery complete with gallows and open crypts...soooo kewl...

 

Caskets abound in this quiet little hideaway, so the handsome Jack and I decided to float about in one built for two!

Arm Bands: Cracked Leather Ring bands in red from Spider Productions (not free, but still awesome, lol.  You MUST check out this store, catering to a diverse clientele from goth, to cyber, vamp, neko, it is packed with some amazing products!)

Leg Strap: Kraykor Lacey straps from Vellas ($50L for pack of 5 colors, quite a bargain, and many more Neko awesomeness, lucky chairs, and midnight Mania board as well, worth the trip for your wallet, lol)

As I mentioned in my previous post, the Twisted Hunt is on it’s way, and to start my coverage of it, I chose this outfit which is made up of several extra items, but showcasing the prize from Burning Chrome which is stop #9 along the way…

 

 

The item is called BC – Twisted, and it is a cool cyber/bionic torso and two arm implants.  Observe the detail of the spine portion showing in the back (sooo kewl…), also included in the package is the top hat in mini topper and full size, the mohawk hair, and the forehead piercings.  This is definitely NOT the first stop in the hunt, but when I saw it, I just had to show it to you.  I am complimenting the outfit with DV8‘s ‘Steam Kitteh’ boots in Imperial (gorgeous violet color); I love the way these steampunk styled boots go with the whole cyber look.  I got these from a Midnight Mania board there at the store not too long ago.  The bottoms were a dollarbie I picked up yesterday from GiGi Couture, and they are called Slit Black Tights, very easy to remember, lol.  I thought I’d throw on my cool color changing spiked tail from Psychotic Neko to add the unifying touch!

I am sooo psyched about this hunt, if the quality of the items follows this in any way, we are all in for some awesome treats! And I am sure they will, last hunt was loaded with the best designers in SL.  I will keep you posted, I promise!!!  BTW… I snuk in a hint for the location of the Burning Chrome Twisted prize in the intro to the hunt post… (wink-wink-nudge-nudge)

So, there I am at Burning Chrome, searching for the Twisted Hunt prize in the store, scanning both high, and low “…when what to my w[a]ndering eyes should appear…(***)” but this huge-o-normous statue sitting on the rooftop of the store next door!  Honestly, impressed as I was, I was not to be deterred from the task at hand.. Once I found my prize I headed straight out the door to take a closer look next door.  This thing was even cooler up close, and I just had to share it with you guys!!

 

 

A big thumbs up to Red Alert & Dimiona Diesel Design for this awesome photo op, and huge KUDOS   to the statue designer Redclaw Inshan.

☠ Hello again! And happy September 1st… No, today is really nothing special, only the beginning of several new HUNTS!!! As well as getting closer to cooler weather here at home.  I am very excited about the Twisted Hunt, sponsored by +DV8+ so, like I promised, here is the info I have so far on it:

I was visiting Burning Chrome to (… what else?) slap a board when I noticed the poster and the hunt prize ready and waiting, I also happened to notice BC’s own little giftie exclusively for this hunt, how kewl are they??? I love this chapeau!! I apologize for the generic pic but I was unable to wear the item and take personal pics, SL became unstable and we were not able to rezz any objects; I was reduced to nothing more than a nebulous mass before I finally gave up and decided to work on my blog with what I had until our world gets set upright once more.

 

Burning Chrome also has a board near the freebie pit with prizes from three previous hunts: The Hybrid Hunt (teal colored kitty paw), The Poppy Hunt (white bag w/ a red poppy on it) and the Sci-Fi Hunt (a blue sphere).  Hunted things like to stick together…..  As soon as the Grid is stable again I will edit this post to add links to the stores.  Until then: Have a wonderful day and go out and start this awesome hunt, I know I can’t hardly wait myself.  ☠

Setting Off w/a BANG!! August 30, 2009

 

 

WOW!!!!!!!

What a better way to set off on my blogging adventure than with this AMAZING find!!

During my usual busy hunting day, a very interesting listing came across my screen for a demonic unicorn avi (that is short for avatar in SL lingo); needless to say, it piqued my attention immediately and I decided to investigate!  I followed the SLURL in the posting to a most interesting store, and when the picture on the board finally rezzed, I went absolutely gaga!!!  I actually stood around waiting for the board to lock, though mind you, that is NOT a regular practice of mine…(that is what I take fastidious notes for…).  This avatar is being offered through a Midnight Mania board at A.R.C. & F.N., and  the target was pretty reasonably set at 100 hits.  I called double bugle call for this one, LMAO, posting in both of my chair groups to make sure I would get it (perhaps someday, when I am rich and famous, well, at least more practiced at it, I can get the store owners to advance me the item samples, lol!!).  The package was delivered as soon as it locked (goodie, this gave me time to race home, tear the box open and try it on for size!), which is soooo much better than waiting and wondering until midnight.  It is just stuffed with goodies, and includes the following items: Skin, shape, eyes, color changeable hair & scripted tail, unicorn horn w/bling on/off, hoof prints & hoof tap walking sounds, scripted curve (mouth chomp bit) with collar functions, sound sphere and random horse sound sphere, and finally Unicorn AO.  Although the package came with its own shape, I decided to keep my own on, so the shape in the pics is not the one in the pack, but man! The detailed, gorgeous work on all the items is just amazing! The eyes are a blinding faceted crystal-like and they look…well, judge for yourselves! 

They put it up on the board once more for the 8/30 run to close at midnight, so head on out and slap that board!

 

Today’s finds turned out to be very exciting, and certainly worth the time in quality and appeal.  In this post I have included three such finds, and I will begin with the most obvious one, the one staring you right in the face! LOL!!  I went to this store DG Gothica, to check out a call for a tattoo on a Midnight Mania board (henceforth to be simply know as MMB), upon landing I was more than pleasantly surprised and pleased at the items offered there.  I slapped the board for the tattoo, and decided to stroll around and look at the other items offered.  There are two rows of Lucky Chairs, a Lucky Cupcake, and an Unlucky Dip, I hit two of the chairs for some very nice Goth artwork, hit the cupcake and got a, what else, chocolate iced cupcake (chocolate…..yummm) and then last but not least hit the unlucky dip, and wouldn’t you know it, I got a box called ‘Tigre en Cadeau’, my rusty french told me right away it was A) a gift, and B) had something to do with tigers, lol!!! I thought, hmmm, cool, probably a tattoo since it was in the tattoo section of the store.  When I got home and rezzed it on the ground, holy sh**!!!! What should appear but this gorgeously detailed, full size TIGER!!!!!  My trip to DGG was like going back to my childhood and hitting a piñata stuffed with goodies! Thanks so much to the owners for their generosity, this Kitty is sure to make many return trips! *♕*

The second item (actually the first one I got today, lol) is this totally awesome tank top I am wearing from Insatiable Fashions; an impromptu gift to group members from the owner, an incredibly nice lady by the name of AliannaMarie.  The tank reads “Pervs Need Not Apply”, the colors are, as you can appreciate, vibrant, the textures very nice, and the tone as irreverent as the rest of her Kool-A** stuff!  Thanks tons Ali for your awesomeness ☆*¨♡

Last, bust most certainly not least, is the way kewl floating Voodoo Magic Tarot Cards from Voodoo, Inc.  I got these from a MMB outside the store, the target also a pretty reasonable 100. *•.¸㋡¸.•*
